Forbes‘ List Of Power Women: The Media Hardhitters
Forbes has come out with its annual list of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” and, as is to be expected, several recognizable names in media made the cut. According to Forbes, the women on the list were selected “not just for being on top” but also for “being smack in the middle of Richter-registering events.” (Quite literally in some instances, if yesterday’s east coast earthquake is taken into account.)
In addition to big media influencers, the list also includes women from various other competitive fields, including tech (Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg comes in at #5), entertainment (Lady Gaga finds herself in the #11 spot), business (Walmart heiress Alice Walton comes in at #85) and politics (Michele Bachmann gets the #22 spot, while Sarah Palin comes in at #34.) Topping the list this year is German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
