Fox News Leads Cable News Primetime Ratings on Monday, MSNBC’s Maddow Tops in Key Demo

On Martin Luther King Day Monday, Fox News led the way in primetime among all of the cable news networks in both overall viewers and the key 25-54 demographic.

According to Nielsen, Fox News posted an average of 2.94 million total viewers on Monday to take primetime, with 597,000 in the key demo. MSNBC came in second with 2,389,000 primetime viewers, and 534,000 from 25-54. CNN placed third with 1,053,000, and 371,000 in the demo.

MSNBC The Rachel Maddow Show eked out a victory in the key demo on Monday, scoring 704,000 viewers from 25-54, and 3,046,000 overall. Hannity on Fox News took the night in terms of overall viewers, with a total of 3,414,000. The show posted 702,000 in the key demo.

Anderson Cooper: 360 was tops on CNN Monday with 1,170,000 overall viewers. He also led all shows on the network with 396,000 viewers in the demo.

There’s been a delay in the reporting of the numbers due to the holiday. Tuesday’s ratings will be out on Thursday.
