Following last night’s big wins for Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Fox News announced that Bret Baier had secured an interview with her. It aired tonight and on the topic of the economy, her response was a little clumsy, but it soon became apparent that her real purpose in talking to Baier was to air out her email scandal.
She was asked directly about the FBI interviewing her staff and said this:
I know that they’ve been interviewing a number of people and I told people to cooperate and I’m looking forward to also participating. I’ve offered to do so since last August.
The FBI has announced they’ve found “no criminal wrongdoing” in her email case thus far and she has claimed in the past that she hasn’t been contacted but is willing to talk to them, yet apparently it all still bears repeating.
When asked about a possible indictment, she said, “Well, I will repeat what I said. That is not going to happen. There is no basis for it and I’m looking forward to this being wrapped up as soon as possible.”
Baier followed up by asking if there is, then, “zero chance” that the FBI investigation will impact her campaign. Clinton responded, “Absolutely.”
