Honky Tonk Wonk: Mother of ‘Affluenza Kid’ Spotted Bartending at Biker Bar Awaiting Trial
Tonya Couch — the mother of the infamous “Affluenza Kid” who avoided jail time after killing four people driving drunk when his lawyers argued he was too affluent to know right from wrong — has been spotted.
The mother and her son were captured by law enforcement in the Mexican town of Puerto Vallarta when they left the country after the son, Ethan Couch, violated parole. The mother is now working as a bartender at a Texas joint called Honky Tonk Women outside Forth Worth.
The 49-year-old Couch is awaiting trail.

Couch’s lawyer said of the situation, “She is not in a position to be choosy about what type of lawful employment she will take.”
The son, now 19-years-old, was sentenced to two years in prison in April for violating his parole after an image of him at a party appeared on social media following his initial acquittal. In 2013 at the age of 16, Couch drunkenly slammed his SUV into the side of the road with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit. Four people were killed and nine others were injured.
Tonya Couch awaits trail for apprehension of a felon.
