The 8-4 final score belies the drama of Game 1 of the National League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs and the LA Dodgers. With three on, two out, and two strikes against him in a 3-3 game in the bottom of the eighth, pinch-hitter Miguel Montero blasted an off speed pitch over the right field fence for a grand slam to give the Cubs a 7-3 lead. Hector Rondon gat the final three outs, and the Cubs got the victory to take a 1-0 series lead.
Amazingly, Clayton Kershaw will get the start tonight for the Dodgers. The LA ace pitched to two batters in relief on Thursday night, and previously started on Tuesday on three days rest. The fact that Kershaw is pitching makes Game 2 pretty much a must-win for the Dodgers, if they have any hope of besting an outstanding Cubs team. Kershaw will be opposed by Kyle Hendricks for Chicago.
First pitch is at 8:00 p.m. ET. The game will air on Fox Sports 1. Joe Buck and John Smoltz have the call. The action can be streamed free with a cable subscription on pc, cell phone, or tablet via Fox Sports Go — which can be downloaded via the iTunes store, the Google Play store, and the Windows store.
