Huckabee on Kim Davis Being Ordered to Jail: ‘Criminalization of Christianity’
Mike Huckabee has been one of the biggest presidential supporters of Kentucky clerk Kim Davis for her refusal to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. As early as this morning he was defending her by saying she was completely following state law.
Well, after Davis was ordered to jail today, Huckabee sent out a brief tweet declaring it to be proof of America’s criminalization of Christianity:
Kim Davis in federal custody removes all doubts about the criminalization of Christianity in this country. We must defend #ReligiousLiberty!
— Gov. Mike Huckabee (@GovMikeHuckabee) September 3, 2015
Huckabee recently said, following the Supreme Court’s ruling, that the criminalization of Christianity is already underway.
