A Donald Trump ally sent CNN’s panel way off the rails on Thursday as she raved about voter fraud and denied that the mogul refused to say that he would accept the election results should he lose.
Even though fact-checkers and conservative figures have insisted that the election will be fair, it didn’t stop Betsy McCaughey from going on about how massive voter fraud is in play to rig the election. The segment soon dissolved into a shouting match as Carol Costello pointed to studies showing the minimalistic impact of voter fraud, while Sally Kohn said that Trump is being “irresponsible and dangerous and reckless” by questioning the American Democratic process.
Costello said that she would have to end the segment if the yelling continued, and sure enough, she eventually decided to cut things short.
Before throwing to commercial, Costello asked her producers to bring up video from this week where Trump supporter Jon Husted debunked the mogul’s rants on voter fraud and election rigging. When the show came back on, Costello showed how the Ohio Secretary of State called Trump’s antics “irresponsible,” and said there is no conclusive evidence of a rigged system.
