Katy Tur Absolutely Destroys Huckabee Sanders Over Her Defense of ‘Facelift’ Tweet: ‘Appalling’

Following today’s White House press briefing where deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders consistently defended President Donald Trump for sending out his “bleeding facelift tweet about MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, MSNBC anchor Katy Tur just absolutely went off on Sanders and the White House’s messaging.

Immediately after Sanders walked off, Tur said that she wonders if Sanders “knows when she says some of the things she says.” Tur followed that up with this observation:

“Donald Trump has never advocated violence? He has advocated violence. I saw him do it a number of times on the campaign trail. Back at a rally in Las Vegas when he said he would like the punch a protester. He said he would pay the legal bills of a supporter who sucker punched a protester in North Carolina. Another protester who was kicked and punched, Donald Trump responded by saying, maybe he deserved to be roughed up a little. And that doesn’t include all the times where he talked about getting protesters out and admonishing law enforcement for not being tough enough with those protesters. so that’s not entirely true.”

After bringing on correspondent Kristin Welker to recap the briefing, Tur and a panel continued to admonish Sanders for her performance at the presser.

“For Sarah Huckabee Sanders to go out there and to say the president hasn’t advocated violence,” Tur exclaimed. “That is demonstrably not true.”

She went on to bring up the Steve Scalise shooting and how Trump came out and said it was time to tone down the rhetoric.

“This is not toning down the rhetoric and it is appalling to hear somebody from the podium say he hasn’t done the very thing he has done,” she noted.
