A few days ago, amidst the debate about a religious freedom law passed in Indiana that its critics claim would allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT customers, a Labor Department economist named Elizabeth Ashack tweeted her thoughts about the bill: “people in the red states vote for nazis to govern, and then call themselves Christian, it will not end well for them. #BoycottIndiana”.
The tweet, and its subsequent deletion were caught by conservative observers — and then was magnified by Ashack’s claim that she was hacked:

Others eventually noticed that Ashack, an employee of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, had deleted any reference to her employment at the Labor Department in her Twitter bio. And then, according to the Washington Free Beacon’s Lachlan Markay, she deleted the tweet claiming she’d been hacked, too.
Gateway Pundit observed that Ashack has previously spoken to the press on behalf of the Obama administration, and once to MSNBC about the effects of the then-upcoming 2013 government shutdown.
