Limbaugh: GOP Wouldn’t Repeal Obamacare Even if They Controlled Everything
One of the big objections some Republicans had to the Obamacare shutdown battle was that elections have consequences and Republicans have no chance of repealing Obamacare when they’re in the minority. But what if they controlled everything? Even then, Rush Limbaugh argued today, the GOP would be too spineless, too “shell-shocked,” and too comfortable with the status quo to actually do something.
Despite all the national backlash to Obamacare in the wake of a bumpy rollout, Limbaugh still said there is “no consensus to repeal Obamacare” in the GOP, and felt that it may be a lost cause thanks to the Republican establishment.
“We’re making all these demands on the Republicans in the House to do something about it, and my question is if the Republicans owned everything would they do anything about it?”
Limbaugh brought up John Boehner swiping at conservative groups as evidence that the Republicans are too “shell-shocked” and “frightened” of the backlash to not going along with the status quo, even going so far as to say there are plenty of Republicans “who are perfectly content with the government, as is, growing.”
