Neil Cavuto Calls Out Trump Directly: When You’re On Foreign Soil, ‘Consider Praising Our Enemies Less’

Neil Cavuto has spent the day absolutely taking a flamethrower to President Donald Trump for his press conference in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In the final moments of his three hours on the air Monday, the Fox News host addressed the president directly:

“You would almost think since he took office in the middle of a worldwide depression. (sic) But he didn’t,” Cavuto said. “Or that he never came into a nearly eight year-long bull market. But he did. Or that hemorrhaging hundreds of thousands of jobs a month like his predecessor was when he came into office. But we weren’t. Just like you would think we were on the brink of a nuclear war. But we aren’t. Mr. President, none of that is real. All of that is fake.”

Cavuto added:

You made history. But that doesn’t give you the right to change history. I know they say you have to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. But that doesn’t mean criticize your friends, and give your enemies cover. Nor does it mean demeaning your office by taking cheap shots at predecessors who held that office.

It’s not about decorum. It’s about dignity. It’s not about endearing yourself to America’s institutions. Just not at the expense of praising Russia’s instituions. Mr. President, that doesn’t mean you need to constantly praise us. But on foreign soil, at least, you might consider praising our enemies less.
