Pence Defends Trump: ‘He Has Every Right to Wait and See’ How Election Turns Out

Mike Pence tried having it both ways after tonight’s debate: defending Donald Trump refusing to say he’ll accept the election results while assuring they’ll definitely accept the election results.

Pence dodged the question at first before CBS’ Major Garrett made him answer it, and Pence declared, “There’s no question Donald Trump’s gonna respect the outcome of this election because he’s gonna win this election.”

He ended up going on a riff about the biased media coverage, but Garrett brought him back on topic and asked him if he’ll say they’ll accept the results “on behalf of your nominee.”

Pence responded thusly:

“He has every right, he has the prerogative, to wait and see how the election turns out. Sometimes extraordinary circumstances develop.”
