Ray Rice says he believes he’ll get another chance to play in the NFL.
The former Baltimore Ravens running back — who was exiled from the league after being caught on camera beating his wife in an Atlantic City casino — gave a rare interview on Wednesday, in which he expresed confidence that he’ll eventually sign with a team.
Speaking to ESPN’s Mike & Mike, Rice said that he’s doing everything he can to get back into the league.
“In my heart of hearts, it will happen,” Rice said. “I don’t know when, and I can’t control when. But the things I can control…being in shape and being ready…I’m just taking care of my part.”
Rice hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2013. Following his release from the Ravens in 2014, no team has signed him to a contract.
