Nine Political Figures That Would Make For A More Entertaining 2012 GOP Primary
While the worst (Donald Trump) may be behind us (or not!), the fate of the Republican Party in 2012 is about as stable and certain as a moment of peace on Real Housewives of New Jersey. But unlike that reality show, almost anyone with the right resources can hop into this race, and with that in mind, here are ten potential candidates that are both more interesting and more substantive than some currently taking up airtime.
Not that the current Republican field needs any more color– take a look, for example, at Dave Weigel‘s handy guide to Republican “Why the hell not?” candidates– but when Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Texan secessionist Rick Perry are fair game for speculation, the below compendium of tragically flawed politicos should at least mention a whisper each.
