Shia LaBeouf Apologizes After Profane Rant: ‘I Am Deeply Ashamed’

Actor Shia LaBeouf tweeted an apology on Wednesday after footage of a profane rant from his arrest last weekend surfaced.

“I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuses for it,” he wrote.

He stated that his actions “warrant a sincere apology” to the arresting officers and expressed that he was “grateful” for their restraint.

“My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least,” he added, “And completely destructive to say the worst. It is a new low. A low I hope is a bottom.”

LaBeouf went on to say that he’s been struggling publicly with addiction “for far too long” and that he was actively taking steps towards sobriety.

The Transformers star was arrested in Savannah, GA for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. At around 4am, he reportedly asked bystanders for a cigarette and when he didn’t get one, he became disorderly and was aggressive to an officer who was at the site.

He called the arresting officer a “dumb f*ck” and “stupid b*tch.”
