The Clinton Foundation has come under lots of intense scrutiny in the past few months, with all sorts of questions raised about the foundation’s transparency and whether donations from certain nations may have influenced decisions made by Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State. The foundation admitted a few days ago they made mistakes in not disclosing enough information, but Bill Clinton today rather strongly denounced the “deliberate attempt to take the foundation down.”
And today, a State Department spokesman faced some questions about those donations and whether they did influence Clinton.
Jeff Rathke told reporters, “We are not aware of any evidence that actions taken by Secretary Clinton were influenced by donations to the Clinton Foundation or speech or honoraria of former President Clinton.”
Rathke kept getting grilled and insisting they have not discovered any “undue influence” on the Clintons’ part.
