Trump Boasts His Social Media Strategy Was Better Than Hillary’s Amid Cambridge Analytica Scandal

President Donald Trump sent out a cryptic tweet on Thursday morning, boasting about his social media strategy during the 2016 election.

The tweet comes as Cambridge Analytica, a data firm Trump’s campaign paid $6 million during the election, finds itself ensnared in a scandal over its harvesting of millions of Facebook users’ data.

A Channel 4 investigation into the firm also found that its CEO bragged about entrapping politicians with prostitutes in meetings with prospective clients — along with a number of other shady maneuvers.

Trump seemed to comment on the scandal in his Thursday morning tweet, writing, “Remember when they were saying, during the campaign, that Donald Trump is giving great speeches and drawing big crowds, but he is spending much less money and not using social media as well as Crooked Hillary’s large and highly sophisticated staff.”

“Well, not saying that anymore!”

Cambridge Analytica is a data firm that was partly funded by Republican mega-donor Robert Mercer, and chaired by former Trump adviser Steve Bannon — who reportedly oversaw its collection of Facebook data.
