Van Jones Explains the Difference Between Giving Trump a Chance and a Pass on Bad Behavior
CNN’s Van Jones, who infamously described the election of Donald Trump as a “whitelash,” was on ABC’s The View today and, of course, the topic turned to Trump.
He said that when it comes to the number of prominent figures calling for Americans to unite and give Trump a chance, there is a solid point to be made…

…but there is a difference between giving a man a chance and a pass to do things that might be racist, bigoted, unconstitutional, etc.
“We do have to give him a chance, but we don’t have to give him a pass on everything,” Jones said. “We don’t have to give him a pass on the things that they never gave [Barack] Obama.”
“Or Hillary Clinton!” interjected Joy Behar.
He brought up the appointment of Steve Bannon, former head of Breitbart, as an example. Had Clinton been elected and selected someone from an equally radical publication on the left, would she be given a “chance” or a “pass”?
