White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today to discuss the administration’s latest plans and administrative agenda. The briefing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
Today’s briefing will undoubtedly involve questions about North Korea’s threat to cancel their upcoming summit with President Donald Trump. The rogue nation recently cut off high-level communications with the South Korean government because of their ongoing defensive cooperation with the U.S. Military. Trump says he still intends to push for denuclearization, but the Kim Jong Un regime says diplomatic negotiations will not stand if there is any demand for them to give up their nuclear weapons.
Sanders might also be asked about Trump’s latest Twitter slams against the “witch hunt” Russia investigation. Trump is bashing the “disgusting, illegal” Robert Mueller investigation on its one year anniversary, and he’s also accusing the Obama-era FBI of spying on his campaign. Trump’s attacks on the Russia probe are nothing new, though his latest jabs come after FBI director Chris Wray said the investigation is not a witch hunt, and the Senate Intelligence Committee determined that Russia wanted to help Trump in 2016.
Other topics that might come up include Rudy Giuliani‘s latest media statements, the confirmation of Trump’s reimbursement to Michael Cohen, and the released transcripts of Donald Trump Jr.‘s testimony before the senate.
