WATCH: Trump Rallies for Alabama Senate Candidate Luther Strange LIVE STREAM

President Trump will be in Huntsville, AL tonight to support Luther Strange‘s in his race to succeed Attorney General and former Senator Jeff Sessions. The rally is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST.

Media observers have noted that Strange’s campaign has largely gravitated around highlighting his allegiance to the president, ever since he was named to fill the vacancy Sessions left behind. Strange continued this strategy last night when he faced off against former state Supreme Court chief justice Roy Moore in a primary runoff debate.

Trump’s decision to support Strange has been a cause of strife among state voters and Trump supporters. Much of this has to do with how Strange is aligned with the Mitch McConnell/establishment Republican side of the GOP, while Moore is considered more of a far-right populist.

While the president’s support is likely to hold weight, Trump supporters like Sebastian Gorka, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter and all of Breitbart have all spoken against Strange. Indications suggest that Moore has the lead at the moment, though if Trump’s tweet is any indication, the president thinks he can tip the scales.

Will be in Alabama tonight. Luther Strange has gained mightily since my endorsement, but will be very close. He loves Alabama, and so do I!
