White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today to discuss the administration’s latest plans and administrative agenda. The briefing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST.
Today’s briefing will probably involve a lot of questions regarding President Trump‘s war with Amazon, as well as the possibility of a trade war with China. Trump has been looking for ways to expand his feud with Amazon despite the significant criticism of his rhetoric against Jeff Bezos’ online retailer. The fight rattled the stock market over the last few days, and the shake-up might not slow down any time soon since China is responding to the new U.S. tariffs against their country with some of their own.
Another subject that may come up is Trump’s plan to have the military go down south to secure the U.S.-Mexican border. Trump went on a rambling spiel yesterday in which he expanded on his increasingly-heated rhetoric against undocumented immigrants. One of the most prominent parts was the announcement that the military will guard the border until Trump’s wall is finally built. This comes after recent reports indicated that Trump wants to take funding from the military to cover the wall’s construction costs.
Other topics likely to come up include the shooting at YouTube HQ, Trump’s meeting yesterday with world leaders from the Baltics, and the latest developments on Robert Mueller’s investigation.
