Netanyahu Roasted For Blaming Charlie Kirk Shooting On ‘Radical Islamist’ Union With ‘Ultra Progressives’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was roasted this week after he insisted “radical Islamists” and “ultra progressives” were to blame for Charlie Kirk’s killing.
A day after Kirk was shot and killed at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University, the prime minister appeared on Fox News to give his reaction to the news. Netanyahu called Kirk an “extraordinary friend of Israel,” continuing his sentiment from a Wednesday tweet in which he referred to the commentator as a “lion-hearted friend of Israel” who “fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization.”
Even before Kirk was officially declared dead, many in the media were quick to cast blame for the shooting. Prominent conservatives, for example, have repeatedly accused Democrats of inciting violence with their “rhetoric.”
On Fox, Netanyahu offered a similar theory — but with the sudden inclusion of Muslims.
“This is a worldwide problem,” Netanyahu told Fox host Harris Faulkner. “The people on the extremes, the Islamists, the radical Islamists, and their union with the ultra progressives. They often speak about human rights, they speak about free speech, but they use violence to try to take down their enemies, whether it’s President Trump — who’s been almost assassinated twice — or, you know, they try to kill me here, too. But they got Charlie Kirk, and it’s just heartbreaking.”
Kirk’s alleged shooter was named on Friday as Tyler Robinson, a Utah local who is not a Muslim.
The prime minister was widely criticized by critics on social media for baselessly bringing up Muslims.
