‘I Don’t Think General Kelly IS Wrong’: Fox’s Cavuto Presses Buttigieg On Harris Calling Trump A ‘Fascist’
Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto pressed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on whether he believes Donald Trump is a “fascist.”
During a Sunday interview on Fox News, the anchor asked the cabinet member about what Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats have had to say about Trump in the final days before the election on Tuesday.
Harris gave cutting remarks connecting Trump to fascism and Nazism after the former president’s chief of staff claimed the GOP nominee praised Adolf Hitler while in office.
Kelly claimed Trump also wished that his generals were as loyal to him as Hitler’s generals in World War II. The Trump campaign has denied the allegations.
Buttigieg responded to Cavuto by saying he does not “think General Kelly is wrong” because “he knows Donald Trump much better than I do.”
CAVUTO: She also called him a fascist. That’s no way to break bread and make peace.
BUTTIGIEG: Well, she said that she did not disagree with his chief of staff, who said that somebody who knows him well.
CAVUTO: Do you think, Mayor, that Donald Trump is a fascist? Do you think he’s that?
BUTTIGIEG: I don’t think General Kelly is wrong. He knows Donald Trump much better than I do. And I would not contradict General Kelly in his assessment of his former boss. Look, we’ve never seen a president have his own chief of staff or his own vice president not support him. And by the same token, we’ve never seen a Democrat have that many Republicans who do support her. But I think the most important thing is the difference in the closing message between him talking about turning guns on people who disagree with them and her saying that if you’re a Republican, you will have a seat at the table in my administration.
