The View co-host Joy Behar took issue with GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina during Tuesday morning’s program, despite the latter’s use of fellow candidate Donald Trump‘s insults about her face for a campaign ad.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced Fiorina’s ad to the panel and the audience. Behar audibly protested as the ad began, and as soon as it was over, she launched into the lone female GOP candidate.
“She has the nerve to use the term women’s suffrage when she’s against Planned Parenthood and women’s maternity leave?” Behar exclaimed. “She’s against Obamacare. She uses the term women’s suffrage? She should be ashamed of herself.”
Co-host Paula Faris, meanwhile, tried to defend Fiorina’s ad: “What Donald Trump said about her face she’s turning into a message. That’s the beauty of life. When somebody shoves something in your face, you turn it around and own it.”
Despite the defense and the audience’s mild reaction, Behar remained adamant in her criticism of Fiorina. “It’s not your face,” she said to cheers from the audience. “It’s your policy.”
