Mika Brzezinski to Colbert On Trump’s Face-Lift Tweet: ‘I Think It’s Really Sad For the Country’

On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski stopped by The Late Show and discussed numerous things, including President Trump‘s tweets attacking them last month.

“It was no big deal,” Brzezinski responded to Stephen Colbert. “Personally, it doesn’t bother me one bit.”

It’s worth noting that the Morning Joe hosts delayed their vacation to react to Trump’s tweet the following morning and Brzezinski tweeted the following in response:

“I do think it’s really sad for the country that this is where we are,” she continued. “And I think [the tweet] backs up my point… that this is our president.”

She shared that she was on the set of Morning Joe when she found out about the tweet and she told Colbert that “everybody started looking very uncomfortable.” She added that her colleague Willie Geist was trying to hide his phone from her.

Brzezinski noted that her mocking of Trump’s fake Time Magazine covers got “under his skin.”

“He could be played very easily,” Trump’s former friend elaborated, “which is very, very concerning.”

Scarborough chimed in that “expressing anger” towards Trump is exactly what he wants, but mocking him is “what makes him the angriest.”

“He has this rage about Mika,” he said. “I think mainly it’s because she’s a woman.”

Colbert mentioned how they used to be friends with the “primo-tool” and asked them about how he has changed according to them.

“He used to know he was a tool,” Brzezinski answered.

Scarborough added that Trump “used to be in on the joke” and that “he had a concept of what he was doing, the game he was playing.”
