Scott Jennings Makes Faces, Does a Full ‘Jim Halpert’ to the Camera as Co-Panelist Lauds Biden’s Job Creation on CNN
CNN’s senior political commentator Scott Jennings was seen mugging for the camera, sporting a Jim Halpert-style facial expression as a co-panelist defended former President Joe Biden’s job growth numbers on Monday night.
The humorous moment came as Daniel Koh, the White House deputy cabinet secretary under Biden, applauded his former boss’s job numbers on Newsnight with Abby Philip.
“President Biden created 15 million jobs,” Koh said as Jennings looked at the camera, shaking his head.
As Koh went on, adding that Biden created more private sector jobs than “many presidents in modern history,” Jennings raised his CNN Newsnight mug, glanced at the camera again, and flashed a tight-lipped smirk.
The look was a callback to the facial stylings of Halpert, played by John Krasinski on The Office.
Later in the show, Phillip had to rein in Jennings as the panel descended into a free-for-all on the lack of due process for migrants swept up in President Trump’s mass deportation scheme.
Last week, Jennings called the Signalgate group chat scandal a “small mistake” and rejected the notion that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should be fired for it.
