Toobin: 50 People Died in New Zealand and Trump’s Worked Up About ‘The Tragedy That Befell Jeanine Pirro’
CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin mocked President Donald Trump for his weekend tweetstorm that included several tweets defending Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro over her reported suspension.
After Pirro’s show didn’t air this past Saturday––following the comments she made about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar that Fox News condemned––the president tweeted at Fox News to stand by her:
Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well. Fox …..

….must stay strong and fight back with vigor. Stop working soooo hard on being politically correct, which will only bring you down, and continue to fight for our Country. The losers all want what you have, don’t give it to them. Be strong & prosper, be weak & die! Stay true….

….to the people that got you there. Keep fighting for Tucker, and fight hard for @JudgeJeanine. Your competitors are jealous – they all want what you’ve got – NUMBER ONE. Don’t hand it to them on a silver platter. They can’t beat you, you can only beat yourselves!

As Wolf Blitzer talked with his panel about the presidential tweetstorm, Gloria Borger said Trump engaged in a lot of trolling while watching TV, saying POTUS is “so full of grievance” even towards the late John McCain.
“Somebody needs to tell him to stop,” she said. “Maybe Melania should tell him to be best.”
Toobin then sarcastically added this:
“50 people died in New Zealand in this horrible terrorist attack, but how does that compare to the tragedy that befell Jeanine Pirro, who had her show put off for one week?… There were four tweets just about Jeanine Pirro!”
