Donald Trump‘s supporters are haranguing Jim Acosta tonight as they await the president for the rally he’s giving later tonight in South Carolina.
The CNN White House correspondent is in West Columbia tonight to cover the event, even as Trump continues to face political heat over the his rescinded policy regarding migrant children on the U.S. border. Of course, Acosta is one of the reporters Trumpworld loves to hate the most, and they’ve hurled plenty of insults towards him already as he waits with his colleagues in the press pen.
As Acosta did a segment tonight with Wolf Blitzer, a person held up a “CNN Sucks” sign behind him while other members of the crowd yelled “go home, Jim.” Acosta managed to brush this off while he was on camera, saying the crowd is fired up and clearly not shy about letting the media know what they think.
Journalists attending the rally for other outlets have also taken notice of how CNN is receiving the most venom from the crowd.

Man who just repeatedly shouted “Go home Jim!” and “CNN sucks!”came over, had a pleasant debate with @Acosta and asked him for a shoutout at the next press briefing. “Didn’t you just shout for me to go home? What do you really want?” @Acosta says. “A little of both!” he says. pic.twitter.com/6FMHF9s7Mb

Here’s some video of a woman berating @Acosta. This went on for several minutes as many in the crowd cheered her on. As someone who’s covered my share of Trump rallies, it feels like 2016 all over again. pic.twitter.com/j0SF2nFDvG
