‘Vivek Was Embarrassing’: Fox & Friends Go Off on ‘Mean’ Ramaswamy in GOP Debate Recap
Fox & Friends opened Thursday’s show by reacting to the fourth GOP debate hosted by NewsNation and offered some harsh criticism and surprising praise to the participants.
The fiery debate featured a lot of conflicts, particularly between former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and not surprisingly, these two received much of the reaction from the hosts of the top-rated conservative opinion cable news morning show.
Steve Doocy flatly said, “Vivek was embarrassing. You know, he just came in too hot once again. He got booed a number of times,” before deriding Ramaswamy with a fourth-place debate finish “only because he was there.”
“I didn’t like that Vivek said to Chris Christie —even though Chris Christie called him an obnoxious blowhard — I didn’t like that Vivek said, ‘Go have a nice meal and get off the stage.'” Ainsley Earhardt added. “I thought that was mean. I think he was attacking him physically. And then Chris Christie was booed in his closing statement for going after Trump and calling Trump a felon.”
Brian Kilmeade praised Christie for holding the other candidates’ feet to the fire when they refused to answer whether they thought Trump was fit to run for president.
“I just don’t know why Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Vivek says ‘yes,’ just to answer, ‘Yeah, I think he’s fit to run. I think a much better choice.'” Kilmeade added. “And the problem is for every candidate and we know it, is that if you think you’re a better choice than Donald Trump, that’s fine. But if you actually win the nomination and you don’t have Donald Trump’s supporters, you can’t win the presidency.”
As the segment eventually turned to a more pro-Trump sentiment, Doocy reminded his co-hosts that while former President Donald Trump currently has 60% of support with Republican voters, “40% of Republicans are looking for somebody else.”
