Whoops! Ronna McDaniel Claims ‘Biden White House’ Suppressed Laptop Story – When Trump Was President
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel accused President Joe Biden of suppressing news coverage of his son’s laptop ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
Of course, at the time, Biden was merely a candidate for office and did not become president until January 2021.
McDaniel appeared on Monday’s edition of The Story, where host Martha MacCallum played a clip of Biden saying “MAGA Republican extremists” who support former President Donald Trump threaten democracy.
“Today’s Republican Party is driven and intimidated by MAGA Republican extremists,” he said. “Their extreme agenda, if carried out would fundamentally alter the institutions of American democracy as we know it, attacking the free press as the enemy of the people, attacking the rule of the law as an impediment, fomenting voter suppression and election subversion.”
Upon losing the 2020 election, Trump famously tried to overturn the results in states he lost.
McDaniel responded by seizing on Biden’s “free press” remark and pointed to the Hunter Biden laptop story, which the FBI flagged to social media companies as potential Russian-driven political disinformation ahead of the 2020 election. The laptop, which contained lewd images of the future president’s son doing drugs and thousands of business-related communications, turned out to be real.
Ex-Twitter officials testified before Congress that they did not feel pressured to block access to the story.
McDaniel then falsely claimed Biden was president in 2020.
“This is a Biden White House that was meeting with social media companies, dictating what they put on their platforms before the 2020 election,” she said. “That, to me, is suppression. This is a White House that killed a Hunter Biden story that we now know is true, that prevented voters from knowing that before the 2020 election. That, to me, is suppression.”
MacCallum did not correct her guest.
