Bill O’Reilly Mediates Peace Between Sarah Palin And Karl Rove Over Christine O’Donnell

One of the most fascinating aspects of following the “GOP Civil War” brought about by Christine O’Donnell‘s stunning primary victory is watching it play out in real time on Fox News. Sarah Palin, who backed the Tea Party candidate, is a Fox News contributor, and so too is Karl Rove, who has come to represent the GOP establishment, and has been a vocal critic of O’Donnell (and her chances for general election victory.) Enter the Fox News big dog, Bill O’Reilly, who reminded Gov. Palin that she and Rove were “simpatico” on most issues. In other words, can’t we all just get along?

In a couple of weeks, this “civil war” nonsense will be ancient history, other than in Keith Olbermann’s twisted little fantasy world.

Yeah Tulsa! How long until Palin targets our Senators Coburn and Inhofe as Establishment, because they stayed in their jobs more than 3 years.

Billo is a fucking idiot. That is not what Karl Rove said.Rove is saying O’Donnell is unethical and has tax problems, college lies, sold her foreclosed home for 135K to her campaign manager boyfriendand used campaign funds for personal use.O’Reilly is supposed to say his crack investigative team will find out what is the truth. What a pussy.

Rove didn’t say the things you posted, you ding dong. Why do you make shit up? He spoke of her checkered past and her financial problems. And, as O’Reilly said, Rove DID also discuss her (in his opinion) slim chances of winning. Go back to watching Keith Olbermann with the other 26 asswipes who watch his horrid show each night. O’Reilly is above your pay grade.

murf, it is like Okie or Sooner, after a while being called R.I.N.O. becomes compliment when it starts to mean you think it is more important to stop Healthcare etc. than electing the “Conservative” sounding tax cheats to lose in the general election in Liberal States.

Andy Lamb please remember this post because it will remind you how stupid you are if you ever watch non-Fox coverage of what Karl Rove did indeed say about O’Donnell’s past. And he was very specific and it is very damaging for her campaign.Did Fox scrub the Rove interview with Hannity last night? He had poor GOP whore Sean in a frenzy. He went down a list that of her past that was brutal will send her into oblivion.

  • slickerwick

Being ethically challenged didn’t keep Rangel from winning his nomination yesterday. But notice how the media doesn’t talk about Rangel, just O’Donnell’s problems? Why is that? Could it be because he has a D after his name?

  • RazorsEdge

Personally, I think the GOP civil war” is a media creation for ideological purposes. Actually, throw in some capitalism puposes as well (clicks by provocation)

    Perhaps a “GOP civil conflict”

Rove also stated during yesterday’s Hannity segment that he would be for the Republican out of Delaware when Hannity stated to Rove thought Rove was against O’Donnell – 4:30 mark in video

I’d like to see Sarah ride Rove like the pig he is… LOL. Rove is a has been, that had his chance when he was a towel boy for Bush. He needs to go away now. right now….

  • slickerwick

Since O’Donnell’s ethically challenged maybe CNN will hire her like they did Spitzer.

  • slickerwick

Oh, I forgot. Rangel and Spitzer are dems. Their corruption doesn’t count in the media.

Yeah not buying what your selling. Even the most “moderate ” republican and even some democrats all agree that ObamaCare was a massive overhaul and was not a good bill. The GOP proposed targeted measures , tort , cross stateline options , no pre-conditions etc . So the GOP WAS for reform just not the Bill that passed. But you knew that.

The interviews were all on FOX, chucken, so why the hell would I need to watch non-FOX coverage of something that was on FOX? You said he called her unethical and a liar. He didn’t. Did he say she has a lot of questions to answer? Yes, and I’m sure she will get hammered as things unfold. The GOP doesn’t need this seat anyway, Democrats are going to get crushed horribly (thanks to the last 20 months of complete misery under the disasterous reign of Barack Obama) on November 2nd. It is going to be a very ugly day for Dems, 100% thanks to Obama.

Ok, who is running around like a little girl whining about the election? None other than that little fart Rove… why? Because he made an a** out of himself the other night with his smearing of O’Donnell all over again.
How about some truth? How about the fact that the Republican Party was more than happy to have O’Donnell run in two elections against an unbeatable Joe Biden as the sacrificial lamb. Where was Rove then… whining and crying? But, when it looked like a Republican could win… well, it was kick O’Donnell to the curb and put in that slimey good for nothing butt kisser Castle because he was one of the good old boys at the public trough… just like Rove who has made millions off the Republican Party – which by the way – only gets its money from the PEOPLE.
How about more truth? How about the fact that before the Republican Party decided to smear and attack O’Donnell she actually polled a couple of points above Coons, the Democratic opponent? So, how can they say she can’t win? If she does, it would only be because the Republican Establishment and rats like Rove have smeared her so much in the public eye.
NEWS ALERT – In just the last 24 hours there have been so many donating to O’Donnell on her web site that it crashed and she has raised over $800,000 today alone.
So, stick that up the place where the sun don’t shine and smoke it… Rove you rat back stabbing jerk. The sucking at the Republican Party money teat is drying up.

  • jk76

I saw part of this interview, Palin looked really really mad, but holding back and trying not to create a chasm between her and Rove. I think she shoulda let loose, defended a duely elected nominee (because it’s right), and woman (politically).

Rove is misreading the voters this time. They are not going to fall for the personal attacks. O’Donnell is not accused of anything illegal. Rove just listed a bunch of accusations that he offered no proof of. Even if all of them are true why would anyone vote for a Marxist Obama lover instead of her?

    From AP…………………Read it and weep……………….

WASHINGTON – Tilted toward the GOP from the start of the year, the political environment has grown even more favorable for Republicans and rockier for President Barack Obama and his Democrats over the long primary season that just ended with a bang.
With November’s matchups set and the general election campaign beginning in earnest Wednesday, an Associated Press-GfK poll found that more Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction than did before the nomination contests got under way in February. Also, more now disapprove of the job Obama is doing. And more now want to see Republicans in control of Congress rather than the Democrats who now run the House and Senate.
The country’s pessimism benefits the out-of-power GOP, which clearly has enthusiasm on its side. Far more people voted this year in Republicans primaries than in Democratic contests, and the antiestablishment tea party coalition has energized the GOP even as it has sprung a series of primary surprises.
_Democrats had a 49 percent to 37 percent advantage over Republicans on the party that voters want to see control Congress; the GOP now enjoys a 55-39 lead among likely voters.
Republicans have steadily gained ground on economic issues and now have a slight advantage on handling the economy, the federal deficit and taxes. They improved their standing in the past month even as Obama stepped up his efforts to persuade the public to give Democratic solutions more time to work.
At the same time, 40 percent of likely voters call themselves tea party supporters, and most of them lean toward Republicans while nearly two-thirds have a deeply negative impression of Democrats. That means the GOP could be in strong shape on Nov. 2 if tea party backers turn out and vote Republican. That’s what they’ve been doing so far this year: The grass-roots, antiestablishment movement can claim wins in at least seven GOP Senate races, a handful of Republican gubernatorial contests and dozens of House primary campaigns.
Also, Obama’s job-performance standing on the economy is at a low point, and a majority of people now say they will consider their feelings about him when they vote for Congress this fall.
“I don’t care for what the man is doing. I think he’s leaving a lot of Americans behind,” said independent Larry Schmidt, 61, of Shingletown, Calif. He says he’ll back a Republican, if he even votes.

What I would add to this is be careful with blindly allowing or not noticing the ‘extremist’ label. By definition, much of the Politics is local. Including Delaware. Delawareans (I think that’s correct) only voted in Delaware Senator primary. So labeling extremist politicans is also local.

Generally, Many Wyoming constituents would call Californian politicians extremist and visa versa. Eye of the beholder or eye of the writer/columnist/blogger etc.

Come November, Delawareans will define who’s extremist or not (really only if a landslide, if election close, then not really extreme).

For me it’s not consequential for non-Delaware politicos to label ‘extremist’ because in this case Delaware voters will decide that. Not the MSM (they’ll try before the election for their own reasons). In fact, I’m not sure how the non Delaware media defines a Delaware extremist politician before the general election has taken place. Times change voters viewpoints on what’s extreme and what’s not. For O’Donnell or Chris Coons, delaware voters will decide the consequences.

  • http://SailRabbits.com Magister

The theory that I’ve been using is that Ms. O’Donnell may be something of a sacrificial lamb to Rove’s scheme. Though she is a lamb, who could win because it doesn’t take a lot of votes to carry Delaware.

What makes her something of a pawn is that she has so much which could be painted as out of the mainstream, Rove probably thinks that by attacking her, he’s not really hurting her and he’s helping other candidates, nationally.

There’s no do-overs in primaries. The only reason, I can surmise for Rove to have stepped-up his attacks is that it enables the Republican establishment to appear to be distancing themselves from the fringe and by comparison, even some of the more extreme elements of the party appear more reasonable.

I don’t know if Sarah has seen the memo, but for her political future, she needs to spend more camera time boosting her favored candidates and championing the Tea Party positions. Personalizing it or making an enemy of the “establishment” may have no effect on Rove’s plan, but it could come back to bite her in 2012.

And…what? Republicans had House Majorities from 1994 to 2007. Republicans had Senate majorities from 2002 to 2006. Bush was President from 2001 through 2008. Do you remember any of this?

And it’s not only Karl Rove, or MSNBC asking questions about Christine O’Donnell. This is from The Weekly Standard:

“Court documents obtained Saturday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD reveal surprising new details about the gender discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Christine O’Donnell in 2005 against her former employer, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, a conservative non-profit based in Delaware.* O’Donnell, who is now challenging moderate congressman Mike Castle in the September 14 Delaware GOP Senate primary, sought $6.95 million in damages. In a court complaint, she extensively detailed the “mental anguish” she suffered after allegedly being demoted and fired because of her gender. And, although she didn’t have a bachelor’s degree until this year, O’Donnell implied she was taking master’s degree classes at Princeton University in 2003.”

I haven’t defended O’Donnell anywhere. Someone else claimed that Rove called her unethical and a liar. I challenged that statement, since Rove did not call her those things. Did he bring up questionable things in her past? Yes. Did he say that he doesn’t see her as a strong candidate? Yes. I agree with him.

For a conservative, the choices in this DE senate race were not very good. It was kind of like the last Presidential election, where the options, as Keith Olbermann would say, were “worser” and “worsest.” Maybe no other Republican saw DE as winnable, or cared to run against Castle. Maybe O’Donnell will surprise everyone and win. Closet skeletons are a funny thing, perhaps Chris Coons has a few of his own.

Democratic candidates have the first 20 months of Obama’s Presidency hanging around their necks like an albatross. November 2nd is a referendum on what he has done, or tried to do, since elected. I’m not saying that to slam Obama, it just happens to be the case. Races that were thought unwinnable a few months ago are now in play. Many Dem candidates are separating themselves from Obama.

Lars, you obviously never watch O’Reilly….well, you already admitted to that. O’Reilly is far closer to the center than any of the liberal dingbats who host evening shows on MSNBC. Conservatives chastise him for not being conservative enough. He is an independant thinker, and asks tough questions to conservatives like Sharron Angle, who he had on last night. Olbermann or Maddow (it makes me laugh just to type the names) would NEVER ask tough questions to any of their ALWAYS liberal guests. That is why no one watches them, besides being talentless, they are very liberal (80% + of people understandably dislike liberals).

Sarah Palin is not a regular guest host on O’Reilly. Laura Ingraham and Juan Williams (the guy that Dr. Boyce Watkins called a “happy negro” because he appears on FOX – well, he actually called Williams a “happy negro” because he is an asshole) are his regular guest hosts. Williams is a Democrat and an Obama supporter. That would be like Olbermann or Maddow (again, laughing) having Bill Kristol guest hosting their shows. Actually, that might not be a bad idea. Maybe more than 53 people would watch as is usually the case.

As bad as it was, the worst thing about ObamaCare was that it tied up two branches of our government for a whole year, while they should have been focused on the economy and stopping its slide into the tank.

The irony is that while Obama pushed healthcare specifically to help the uninsured, he probably created more uninsured than he helped, when they lost the insurance they had with their jobs.

  • Morgan

As we have been following the political “good news” over this last summer, we have had to keep reminding ourselves, “It’s still a long way to November (anything can happen)”

Now as it’s almost November, and Obama and the gift that keeps on giving, keeps making it better and better; we can almost look forward to an October Surprise, to put us over the top.

  • Morgan

Karl Rove is a pretty smart guy when it comes to politics and he might be right that she will lose the seat and cause the Republicans to not regain a majority in the Senate (which will be major). That may be the reason he was so worked up about the loss. I’m sorry he didn’t keep a game face on and not create sound bites the Dems will use in the campaign. I’m sure Karl is sorry about that also.

The good news? Whatever bad laundry Christine has, I’m sure it would get out anyway and this is one way to get it out early. In other good news, it might mean conservatives and tea partiers will have to redouble their efforts across the board in an historical turnout to get that seat, or others, to a landslide victory.

There is probably no one smarter than Karl Rove in knowing elections, however, I don’t think there has been an election to compare with the elements in this one and Karl may be very wrong. I’m sure Karl would be glad about that also
