Brian Kilmeade Asks What Would Be The Problem If Obama Was A Muslim

Please let August end! It’s like a bizarre parallel universe, a Bermuda Triangle of months, where non-stories dominate the headlines, flight attendants become national heroes, and the most progressive view on our president’s religion comes from…Fox % Friends? Yes, earlier this morning, the friends on Fox News were discussing President Obama’s interview with Brian Williams, specifically his comments about recent polls showing how much Americans question his faith. During the conversation, Brian Kilmeade asked the one question many keep missing in the debate over whether or not our president is a Muslim: So what if he is?

“Personally, if we are a true melting pot, and we are, being a Muslim- what’s wrong with being a Muslim? Is that suddenly a problem, to be a Muslim? If he was, his dad was a Muslim. That doesn’t talk about any disingenuousness”

The fact that Kilmeade said that and that all of the commentators took as granted that Obama isn’t in fact some Secret Muslim, put this conversation leaps over a lot of what we’ve been hearing this month. After that quote Juliet Huddy pointed out that, ever since 9/11, many Americans have been uncomfortable with Islam in general. This is obviously true and not something that’s inexplicable. We as a nation and our hesitation with Islam is something that should be discussed and this segment turned out to be a good example of how to broach a touchy subject.
