Gov. David Paterson Will Not Seek Reelection, Reports New York Post
The New York Post with an actual Paterson scoop? The paper is reporting that beleagured Gov. David Paterson will announce he’s not be seeking reelection at 11:30 this morning.
Update: And at 10:41 the NYT catches up to their own bombshell story and posts this: Paterson to Drop Out of Race for Governor. Also, on WNYC, Brian Lehrer just said that he was sad to see the Gov. go; that in 25 years of dealing with Paterson he proved to be one of the most forthright politicians out there.
Gov. David Paterson has decided not to seek election to a full term amid a roiling scandal over whether he and his troopers intimidated a woman who’d reported domestic violence against one of his top aides, The Post has learned.
Paterson has communicated to top advisers and supporters that he will pull the plug on his campaign today, multiple sources said — confirming a Post report.
He’s expected to make a statement at 11:30 a.m.
