Jan Brewer Stars In Worst Debate Moment Ever

video

I guess cojones can only get you so far. Last night, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer stumbled through her first gubernatorial debate with current Arizona Attorney Gen. Terry Goddard. Stumbled is putting mildly. Ben Smith described it as being like “an anxiety dream” and Seth Meyers noted “Other than every single part of it, Jan Brewer’s opening statement last night was pretty good.”

It’s unclear why Brewer, usually so succinct in her condemnation of President Obama‘s immigration laws, was struggling so much to utter a clear sentence. But boy was she struggling. Brewer barely got through saying hello before she apparently lost her way and stopped for a full 10 seconds to stare at her notes. 10 seconds is a lifetime on live TV. Brewer appeared to get her mojo back when asked to defend her controversial immigration bill and then went to pieces again at the end when Goddard confronted her on her assertion that there were “beheadings in the desert.” Seth Meyers speculated that perhaps Brewer had seen “someone beheaded off camera and lost her cool.” Watch below.

I guess you didn’t see the Boxer Debacle!

I thought that race was going to be close, but Fiorna was in TOTAL COMMAND of both the debate & the issues.

Boxer was flailing away the entire debate at Fiorina, while her opponent stayed focused on what she would do to improve the mess the Sacramento Dems got Ca. into!!
    ——————————————————————————

Speaking about the Dems, how’s this for the Party of White-Hate?:

“Update on the Party of White-Hating Racists:

A new website sponsored by the NAACP and left-leaning media operations is seeking videographers and bloggers who will search out “racism” and “extremism” among Tea Partiers.

Teapartytracker.org will feature tweets, interviews with people at rallies, blog entries and a picture of a t-shirt they say someone spotted at a rally that reads “Blacks own slaves in Mauitania, Sudan, Niger & Haiti.”

The site, sponsored by the NAACP, Think Progress, New Left Media and Media Matters for America, will monitor “racism and other forms of extremism within the Tea Party movement. We call on the Tea Party to repudiate extremists among their ranks and join in civil dialogue with all Americans.”

I remember when Governor Brewsky spoke of her father dying fighting the Nazis in Nevada in 1956. I thought at the time that her lack of familiarity with history was matched only by her lack of familiarity with the English language. She didn’t even match that performance in this debate. This must be one really dumb woman.

Hey More Liberty. Obama meant to say grandfather. If you watch the whole press conference you would have notice he was talking about his grandfather who fought in WWII.

I am glad I don’t live in Arizona.

  • Azarkhan

Governor Brewer’s fumbling doesn’t matter; the majority of Americans and Arizonans support her and the conservatives on illegal immigration and other issues.

Plus, the fact that the State Dept included a Justice Dept lawsuit against Arizona’s immigration law in a report to the United Nations human rights commission is going to provoke enough outrage that Brewer will end up crushing her opponent, Terry Goddard.

At least Mr. Goddard won’t have to wonder why he lost. He can thank Pres. Obama.

What Brewer will do is what George W Bush did after a poor first debate performance with John Kerry in 2004 and Ronald Reagan who looked old and out of it in his first debate with Walter Mondale and also Al Gore who stunk it up with Bush in 2000.You always have time to come back for a 2nd try.Now lets see that pussy Rick Perry(R) debate Bill White(D) for the Texas governors race.Anyone who does a debate deserves credit for at least showing up and giving it there best shot.

To be fair, his grandfather served in World War II and his grandfather played a huge role in raising Obama since his real father was absent. Under those circumstances, many children identify their care-taker as their father, rather than the biological one who is absent.

Of the 37 gubernatorial races this year, candidates in more than 20 states have endorsed adopting a strict Arizona-style immigration law or passing legislation that makes it harder for illegal immigrants to live, work and access basic public benefits in their states, according to a POLITICO analysis…

But polls show voters want the government to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. And with Congress unlikely to act anytime soon, gubernatorial candidates are arguing that, as chief executives, they will try to do the job that they say the federal government has neglected.

“We call on the Tea Party to repudiate extremists among their ranks and join in civil dialogue with all Americans.”

    Sounds “extremely moderate” to me.

If you had bothered to visit the actual site, you’d see that it provides links that substantiate every claim – unlike Fakes “News” and many other neocon shills.

You’d also see that MediaMatters.org, the NAACP and the other organizations hosting the site are upfront and honest about their participation – ALSO unlike the neocon multi-billionaires who fund – and hide behind – FreedomWorks and its ilk.

    Haimerej said:
“Blacks own slaves in Mauitania, Sudan, Niger & Haiti.”

Can someone explain how that’s racist?

I guess it’s a way of claiming that blacks are as racist as whites, thereby justifying white racism.

Then again, this shirt was seen at a Glenn Beck rally, so any resemblance to rational thought is strictly coincidental.

“DEMAND your representative explain why the blatantly PARTISAN NAACP remains TAX-EXEMPT!!!”

You mean, like the blatantly partisan, tax-exempt FreedomWorks?(!!!)

The NAACP is “partisan” toward racial equality; FreedomWorks promotes the personal interests of multi-billionaires.

Obama can read the hell out of a teleprompter. Unlike the Brewers, Palins and Bushes, he can also WRITE what’s ON it.

“lot of good his “media savvy” is doing the millions of people out of wrk.”

Then why bring it up? Are you so desperate for “squawking points” that you have to make them up? You work for Fox?

“Obama claimed “My father served in WWII.”

His grandfather (and a great-uncle) served. He was raised by his grandparents, so it’s not surprising that he thinks of them as his parents.

Except for Dubya’s Air National Guard “service,” keeping Georgia safe from the Vietnamese . . . when he bothered to show up . . . sober . . . we’ve seen scant evidence of service by the same neocons who are so quick to condemn. Where was Dick “Five Deferment” Cheney? Where was Rush ‘Anal Cyst” Limbaugh?

“Brewer will be re-elected by 10 points …”

And doesn’t deserve ANY of them.

    William Robert Stone said:
Hey More Liberty. Obama meant to say grandfather. If you watch the whole press conference you would have notice he was talking about his grandfather who fought in WWII.

The YouTube “snippet” conveniently excludes anything meaningful. Typical of the shallow, dishonest neocons.

” I did this to prove a point, you partisan jump on mistakes like rabid dogs.”

So you’re no better than THEY are?

“Many of these are innocent mistakes.”

At the beginning, folks gave Bush the benefit of the doubt when he stumbled or fumbled for words. It’s when his malapropisms became routine – abundant, in fact – that we began to notice. Same with $arah Palin.

Obama has made some gaffes. They usually go unnoticed because of their relative rarity and brevity.

By contrast, Brewer appears to have undergone a protracted, slow-motion implosion. It’s one thing if this were an isolated incident, but combined with the scrutiny of both the “Papers Please” law AND the unanswered questions about her relationship with the for-profit prison industry in AZ, a storm of negative publicity – of her own creation – now imperils her election.

“the law Arizona copied was US law.”

It cannot SUPERSEDE or SUPPLANT U.S. law.

“Obama said his grandfather helped free Auchwitz. ”

    Wrong . . . yet again!

    From: politico.com :

“[T]he Republican National Committee pounced on Obama’s improbable statement that an uncle had served in the unit that liberated Auschwitz.

“In fact, campaign spokesman Bill Burton says, his great uncle was a member of the 89th Infantry Division that liberated the Ohrduf camp, part of Buchenwald and, according to the Holocaust Museum, the first concentration camp liberated by U.S. troops.

“The soldier in question, Burton said, is Obama’s grandmother’s brother, who’s still alive.”

“how he met his wife at college when he really met her on the job.”

Obama’s own website says they met on the job. What are you talking about? Another fabricated – and pointless – neocon lie.

    Azarkhan said:

notsobright: “I’m glad I don’t live where you or Barry lves!”

I’m not sure you live where ANYBODY lives. (Cue “Twilight Zone” music.)

“polls show voters want the government to stop the flow of illegal immigrants.”

Only because the Republicants and their propaganda arm, “Fakes News,” keep hyping the issue. Rachel Maddow reported that the number of illegals entering the country has DROPPED by two-thirds over the last few years.

The Repubs need to, as Maddow says, “scare the white people” – and distract them from their miserable record in Congress by creating a threat out of a situation that is actually improving.

The same goes for their “Ground Zero Mosque” which is neither at Ground Zero nor a mosque. Distract-lie-distract-lie-distract-lie. Repeat as necessary.

Don’t you get tired of being lied to?

“this is old and Maddow is jumping on it.”

    “Old” corruption is okay?

It isn’t “old” to the local CBS affiliate that followed the story so diligently – and is now suffering financial loss as a result of it’s efforts to inform the public. Kudos to Maddow and MSNBC for bringing on a competitor to discuss a matter that concerns us all.

I wouldn’t want to live in a state that was pissed on so badly by the Federal Government and our State Department. For the State Department to include the Arizona lawsuit in a report on human rights violations to the UN is unconscionable.

Let’s not forget this Obama Gem…….

If you were governor of a state that was being sued by the federal govt, threatened to be sanctioned by the UN for human rights violations, and only became governor because the state’s previous governor became part of Obama’s cabinet, you’d have a brain freeze too.

When she was Secretary of State in AZ she managed to disqualify 100,000 registered voters with Hispanic names. (None of them were prosecuted for voter fraud.) She is intent on keeping Democrats from voting far more than she’s trying to stop illegal immigration.

Flash, NSF: Buchenwald is not in the US. If it were, it would probably be in Arizona.

Yeah, I bet your right, of course since you “probably” have the remnants of the Khmer Rouge living in your backyard, you would “probably” know. Maybe you should come out and say you wish you could join the Klan, if only you could meet their requirements. Am I hitting a nerve yet, because you hit one of mine.

Have you ever actually stood in a concentration camp? I HAVE! I can tell you that if you have then you will never ever forget it. Now I understand that you are trying to be cute, but that statement is not cute, is not witty and should not stand. I can certainly guarantee that if you actually have been to a place like that whether its a concentration camp or a killing field you never forget it and you still have a shred of humanity then you don’t find it funny or cute. Buchenwand in Arizona, do you actually have any clue as to what you are equivocating?

Now I realize that my comment comes way later than yours and that you have moved on to the next topic, but I promised myself to never ever let insane statements like yours go unchallenged.

@Andy Lamb, “Sort of like he meant 50 states when he said he had campaigned in all 57 states.”

BO also said that the Great Lakes were in Oregon and that Pennsylvania was in the Midwest. A direct result of an affirmative action education.

That’s an advanced Republicant mindset that you see. Completely mindless most of the time. Nice display.

She keeps this up, she’s gonna be on the same intellectual level as the various BushDrunk families!

Brewer will be elected in November…count on it. Her teleprompter failed…or wait, she didn’t have a teleprompter. Not one vote changed after the debate. She has a lock on the office and we love her. Being glib is really only a requirement for liars.

Wow, did you write that yourself?

I’ve been reading comments from some and I have to say that some of the comments sounds like the politically correct crowd that is imbued with a mentality that denies any sort of bad or behavioral patterns in people. It’s so easy to sit back and judge, and yet have no real knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes, and some rely on second hand information.

    Things to remember………….

The truth is not a “Talking Point”.

A lie is not a point of view or an opinion it is just a LIE.

The economic problems are not caused because we are not taxed enought.

Corporations don’t pay taxes their customers do.

Another speech by Obama will not get anyone a job.

I wonder how many of these useful idiots on the left would fare after they had been in a battle with the Marxist President and his corrupt AG for the last few month?. I am sure Jan Brewer is exhausted and probably should have taken a couple of days off to rest up prior to the debate. She is still a WINNER and will continue to kick the Kenyan Kook in the cojones every chance she gets. Go Jan!

  • esd2000

Wasn’t she the court appointed defense attorney that kept stuttering in “My Cousin Vinny”? Palin/Brewer 2012? One could only hope. Dumb and Dumber part 3.LMAO. You guys are way too funny.
