Fox News’ late night comedy/news show Red Eye explored a topic raised by The Washington Post‘s Dave Weigel last week – Andrew Breitbart‘s new Twitter image.

With Breitbart in studio, ombudsman Andy Levy got the answer right from the source – what’s with the Eric Boehlert lookalike picture?

Breitbart is no fan of Media Matters – his Twitter bio says, “I have to cover the sickening freaks at Media Matters.” But since last week, his Twitter picture looks very similar to that of Media Matters Senior Fellow Eric Boehlert. “Are you guys BFFs?,” asked Levy in Friday’s Postgame Wrap-Up. “What’s going on here?”

“There’s a love…that is unrequited,” said Breitbart. “And I am doing everything I can to requite it.”

During Breitbart’s encounter with Mediaite’s Rachel Sklar last week in D.C., he joked about attending the Media Matters after party. And he’s making good use of another encounter from the White House Correspondents Dinner in D.C. – with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. The image is now his Twitter background.

me thinks he complains too much.

Eric Boehlert is one of the very, very few that actually understand what a nightmare our political media has been for over a dozen years.

Eric is one of the few from the left that understands and will say that the bleached blond fool Chris Matthews – though he may have a crush on Obama – is no friend of progressives. Eric also has written the truth that MSNBC is the channel that did more to trash Gore and elect George Bush in 2000 than Fox News ever did.

Also, being that he is an ex music journalist for Rolling Stone and not a suck up to the cable show hosts like everybody else here, he is so much cooler than anyone in the tres nerd DC press corps.

By the way, since im on the topic of DC and “cool” – I caught Jake Tapper (who is considered cool for DC – which is an oxynoron) for the first time on ABC’s This Week” yesterday – boy did he suck.. Just sayin’…
