Report: Andrew Breitbart Was In Talks To Do Show With Anthony Weiner For CNN (Updated)
The worlds of politics and media are so, so very strange. The recently departed Andrew Breitbart — who was, you’ll recall, instrumental in revealing the extent of former New York representative Anthony Weiner online flirtations — was in talks with CNN to host a show alongside Weiner, the Daily Mail reports.
The show would have been similar to Crossfire (not unlike CNN’s now-defunct program starring Eliot Spitzer and Kathleen Parker), with Breitbart taking on major issues and news items from a right-wing perspective, and Weiner providing a view from the left.
Confidants of Breitbart say he had some reservations about a CNN show but would probably have signed up for it. He was intrigued by the notion of a show with Weiner, believing it could be a vehicle for real discussion of ideas.
UPDATE: A CNN Spokesperson tells Mediaite that the story is false.
