Sheboygan, WI Mayor Faces Recall For Drunken Behavior, Including Comments About ‘Hummers’

Sheboygan, Wisconsin’s Mayor Bob Ryan knows how to have the kind of good time that swiftly turns into a pretty bad time. Ryan, who has been open about his alcoholism, is facing a recall on January 16th following a string of alcohol-fueled incidents dating back to 2009.

In July of 2009, Ryan was filmed telling fellow bar patrons about his sister-in-law’s supposedly rather skillfully delivered “hummers.” (But, he added, “I wouldn’t know myself.”)

He also embarked on a three-day bender last summer, passing out (and subsequently being photographed) at a local tavern.

Although he maintains he’s been sober for the last six months and insists his issues have never interfered with his work, Sheboygan residents feel that he’s been “an embarrassment” to their community. One of Ryan’s potential successors includes an 18-year-old high school student.

Sheybogan is a nice little town… Much like South Bend or Kalamazoo but placed nicely on the lake and just east of Kettle Moraine’s northern unit… Great little wood fired pizza joint on the main strip. Had no idea the mayor was a grain hound.
