Former ‘Congressman With Guts’ Alan Grayson Hits Public Bus With His Mercedes
Former Congressman Alan Grayson made quite the splash as a freshman liberal firebrand before losing his seat in the Republican turnover of 2010. He is running for Congress again this year in his Florida district, but on his way to an “upscale fundraising event,” reports local NBC affiliate WESH 2, he managed to somehow hit a Lynx bus– the local public transport system– with his Mercedes.
Frank Luntz Afraid Of Occupy Movement, But Ed Schultz Not Afraid Of Luntz
On Thursday night’s The Ed Show, host Ed Schultz joined 99 percenters across the nation in celebrating Republican pollster Frank Luntz‘s admission that he’s “frightened to death” of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Schultz and guest Alan Grayson correctly assess Luntz’s fear as a positive sign that the movement is having a real impact, but they badly underestimate Luntz’s Jedi mind-trickery, declaring that it won’t work this time.
Alan Grayson Compares Rep. Paul Ryan And The GOP To OJ Simpson: ‘They’re The Real Killers’
The rise of Occupy Wall Street and the topic of income inequality in the media has giving a bit of a second wind to the currently stalled career of former Congressman Alan Grayson, and he has returned to the spotlight with gusto. The Congressman visited the Ed Show to give his take on how much he opposes divisive politics, and in doing so compared the complaints of such division from Rep. Paul Ryan to OJ Simpson pretending someone else was responsible for the murders he was accused of.
Alan Grayson Defends Occupy Wall Street On Rachel Maddow: ‘They’re Doing The One Last Human Thing Left’
While the Occupy Wall Street movement continues leaderless and clearly with little working in the PR department, former Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson has taken on part of the burden of explaining and defending the movement in public. Having received a standing ovation on Real Time with Bill Maher Friday night, Grayson appeared on MSNBC tonight with Rachel Maddow, arguing that Occupy Wall Street was the logical conclusion to the stagnating economy.
Alan Grayson Gets Standing Ovation While Bill Maher Panel Mocks Occupy Wall Street ‘Hippies’
One would think that the anti-corporatist ideals of the Occupy Wall Street movement would receive some safe harbor on Real Time with Bill Maher, and one would be correct that their ideology gelled entirely with the audience. But before Alan Grayson passionately stood up as a spokesman for their cause, the panel spent a fair amount of time mocking the group ruthlessly, for their “bongo drums,” disorganization, and incoherence.
Alan Grayson Announces Run For Congress: ‘Washington Is Now Divided Between The Meanies And The Weenies’
Former U.S. Representative Alan Grayson paid a visit to The Ed Show, telling host Ed Schultz that, were he still in Congress, he would decidedly not vote for any cuts to Medicare or Social Security, and he would be “grabbing everybody else by the collar and telling them they should do the same.” Furthermore, he [...]
Is Former Rep. Alan Grayson Eric Bolling’s Most Difficult Guest To Interview Yet?
Remember former Congressman Alan Grayson? Grayson quickly become one of the most well-known freshman representatives for his brash style and unabashedly liberal politics, but couldn’t survive his first reelection bid last November. He now occasionally pops up on television– like this latest appearance this week on Follow the Money, where Grayson did everything he could to act dismissive and annoyed at host Eric Bolling for challenging his politics.
Alan Grayson Jokes To Ed Schultz: Bush ‘Might’ve Been Passed Out Drunk For The Last 3 Or 4 Days’
In the wake of the Osama bin Laden killing, there has been some ugly debate over credit for vanquishing the terrorist leader, which has, in turn, revived some bitter Bush-era battles. On Thursday night’s The Ed Show, host Ed Schultz ran down a list of reasons not to credit the Bush administration for bin Laden’s [...]
Breaking: Glenn Beck Has Also Made Copious Nazi References
Earlier today, Mediaite’s Matt Schneider compiled a rather damning list of examples of Keith Olbermann making Nazi references There were probably more than a handful of readers who saw the piece and immediately thought, “Well what about Glenn Beck?” It’s a fair point, especially in light of Beck’s own outrage at Nazi comparisons. But it’s also important not to pretend that this happens equally on both sides.
Lawrence O’Donnell Blasts Alan Grayson Over Tax Cuts: “Be An Adult About This!”
Last night Lawrence O’Donnell got into a very interesting and entertaining row with Rep. Alan Grayson over the extension Bush tax cuts. The back-and-forth between the host and the outgoing Florida Congressman started when Grayson confirmed that he would be voting against the tax bill, then launched into his inimitable style of aggressive rhetoric, attacking both the GOP and President Obama.
Rep. Alan Grayson Continues Tax Attack On Wealthy Cable News Hosts On MSNBC
Congressman Alan Grayson‘s days in the House of Representatives may be numbered, but his liberal ire at all things Republican has yet to find a limit. Grayson visited MSNBC’s The Ed Show yesterday for a victory lap of sorts after his posterboard-laden attack on Fox News personalities’ salaries, where he reminded cable news host Ed Schultz that cable news hosts support the Bush tax cuts because they personally impact their wealth.
Alan Grayson Shows How Bush Tax Cuts Will Benefit Fox News Prime Time Hosts
Despite Alan Grayson losing his election last in November, he has not softened up, at all. Case in point, his tour de force on the House floor earlier today as he tackled the Bush Tax Cuts. The targets? The conservatives talking heads that populate Fox News every evening, often championing the very Bush Tax cuts at hand. The strategy? Demonstrate just how much each pundit stands to make by the extending of the tax cuts. The result? Brilliant television that is certain to both get attention and rile Grayson’s adversaries. Just what he wants.
Eric Bolling To Alan Grayson: It’s “Like I’m Talking To A Medicated Person”
Last night on Fox Business, Rep. Alan Grayson visited Eric Bolling on Follow the Money, where the two would participate in one of the most awkward and least informative interviews this side of Joaquin Phoenix. There were long silences, indirect insults, and general surreality. “Do you want to ask me any serious questions?” Grayson finally asked. Bolling replied, “I don’t think so, sir. Honestly, it’s almost like I’m talking to a medicated person.”
A Defeated Alan Grayson Calls Election Day Results ‘National Disaster’
Progressive firebrand and MSNBC staple Alan Grayson may have lost his congressional reelection bid this Tuesday, but it doesn’t appear that he will abandon his progressive causes anytime soon. In an interview that parallels Bill O’Reilly‘s chat with Christine O’Donnell on Fox News, Grayson evaluated his strategy and defeat this week with MSNBC’s Cenk Uygur.
Bill O’Reilly Predicts Defeated Rep. Grayson Will Get Hired By Arianna Huffington
Rep. Alan Grayson, who had arguably one of the most offensive campaign ads this season “Taliban Dan”, has lost his re-election bid to Republican Daniel Webster, according to several outlets.
Bill O’Reilly confidently said Grayson would lose long before it was called – and predicted his next place of employment.
MSNBC Pres. Asks For Examples Of On-Air Fund-raising; Inevitably, Examples Found
This, ladies and gentlemen, is how the media works now.
After we and other outlets picked up on the almost literal fund-raising going on during a Sean Hannity interview, MSNBC President Phil Griffin made a challenge in the New York Times, to “show me an example of us fund-raising.” Examples = found.
Which Of The Media’s Favorite Candidates Actually Have A Chance Of Winning?
We hear, and write, a lot about certain candidates during this 2010 election cycle, and its not just the ones who are in hotly contested races.
No, we like to hear about the characters – the fun ones. Which of these actually have a chance to win? We ranked them all, based on polls, momentum and more, using what we’re calling the “Minnesota Scale”.
Alan Grayson Complains About Opponent’s “Blistering, Evil” Ads
“Progressive warrior” and eccentric Orlando Congressman Alan Grayson made his usual round on MSNBC’s The Ed Show yesterday to talk to Ed Schultz‘s audience about the ongoing struggle between him and the giant corporate enterprise that “couldn’t buy me, and now they’re trying to destroy me” (by which he means his reelection campaign). Turns out he is strongly opposed to negative campaign ads!
Now This: Alan Grayson’s New Ad Attacks Daniel Webster, Parodies The Sopranos
Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) has a new campaign ad attacking his Republican opponent Daniel Webster. No, it’s not as explosive as the ‘Taliban Dan’ spot that he recently unleashed, but this new one still has some drama. A specific drama, in fact: in a minute-long homage to The Sopranos, Grayson attempts to liken Webster to New Jersey mafioso.
Anderson Cooper Nails Rep. Alan Grayson Over Misleading ‘Taliban Dan’ Campaign Ad
Most everybody discredits and disdains the ‘Taliban Dan’ ad commissioned by Rep. Alan Grayson. Well, everybody except for Grayson, who’s still defending his attack ad on cable news networks. Last night he visited Anderson Cooper, who plainly accuses Grayson of misrepresenting his Republican opponent Daniel Webster, saying, “You can’t argue that.” The wily Grayson responded: “I don’t know why you keep saying I can’t argue this, that, or the other thing.”
Jon Stewart Cites Sarah Palin’s ‘Boo-Gate’ Mistreatment As A Need To Restore Sanity
Jon Stewart is planning a big rally in Washington D.C. for October 30th, calling it the “Rally to Restore Sanity”. On last night’s The Daily Show, the “fake news” host used two recent items in the news as examples for the nation’s dire need to restore sanity: Rep. Alan Grayson’s dishonest attack ad toward his opponent “Taliban Dan” Webster, and the fake booing controversy surrounding Sarah Palin‘s recent appearance on Dancing With The Stars. Stewart seemed put back in pointing out how Palin had been mistreated, saying “don’t make me defend her.”
“Taliban Dan” Webster Answers Alan Grayson’s “Anti-Woman” Charge
FactCheck.org has already debunked Alan Grayson’s “Taliban Dan” ad, which is quickly becoming the most controversial one of the midterm season. And today Daniel Webster decided to further his case on Fox News, where he responded to Grayson’s attack.
Contessa Brewer Goes After Grayson For ‘Taliban Dan’ Ad
MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer should start a regular feature on her show in which she calls to account politicians for their nut job political ads. If today’s go-round with Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla) — he of the disgraceful Taliban Dan ad — was anything to go by, she’d have a surefire hit on her hands.
Alan Grayson Campaign Answers for ‘Taliban Dan Webster’ Ad
Congressman with Guts® Alan Grayson has upped the ante on campaign ads, even by his own aggressive standards, with a new ad that dubs his Republican opponent for congress “Taliban Dan Webster.” While the ad focuses on Webster’s moral attitudes from the 1990s, the ad is an unmistakable echo of an infamous 2002 attack ad by Republican Saxby Chambliss that pictured triple-amputee Vietnam vet Max Cleland with images of Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.
Rep. Alan Grayson: Restoring Honor Attendees ‘Were Wearing Sheets Over Their Heads’ In 1985
Florida Rep. Alan Grayson is a lively public figure, and having established a fairly solid public image (for better or worse), it seemed easy to predict what he would think of Glenn Beck‘s “Restoring Honor” rally. On the Stephanie Miller Show on Thursday, he described rally attendees as “people who were wearing sheets over their heads 25 years ago,” which is almost predictable except… 25 years ago? In 1985?
