Sticking with the Jackson story doesn’t seem to be helping Anderson, he didn’t even get half of Greta’s numbers in the total viewers or the demo and to add insult to injury, lost to Olbermann’s repeat in the demo and Olbermann wasn’t even there.
Not to worry, I am sure that his “Regis & Kelly” numbers are through the roof, clearly that is his true “bliss.” He might want to consider doing a celebrity talk show and leave the news business to authentic journalists. It is difficult to believe that he used to be an excellent journalist.
Lawrence O’Donnell continually provides the most cogent analysis of all the talking heads and pundits on television. It was a pleasure to see him host Countdown two nights ago. It was also refreshing to listen to Gov. Dean last night.
Anecdotally, from my limited exposure to neocon friends in the two localities I call home, the reason Fox drivel news is more popular and had higher numbers, is that Fox appeals to the fears and baser instincts of people. Be it gov’t take over, racism or xenophobia. And these people do not read nor seek other sources for information. Therefore, continually Fox network numbers will always show a higher rating. I tune in to Fox just to familiarize my self with the idiocy of Beck, the megalomania and narcissism of O’Reilly, the pandering and illogical Hannity and the specious logic of Greta. Shepard Smith tries his darnest to be a journalist given the apparent mission statement of Rupert Murdoch.
The ratings are incomplete. MSNBC is not available on all of the outlets that CNN and Faux News are. #2. MSNBC’s shows are available for download on their website which is in the hundreds of thousands every month that are not counted in the ratings but should be. Just those two examples should give anyone pause when reading the ratings everyday.

Rahm Emanuel On 60 Minutes: “Fringe Group Has Taken Control” Of GOP

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was recently interviewed by CBS' Katie Couric for tomorrow night's episode of 60 Minutes, a short clip of which has been released online. In the clip made available, Emanuel briefly discusses the challenges of his political foes: the Republican Party, and says that they have their "own problems and fissures" and are "at the behest of a fringe group that's taken control of their own party." Obama’s Final Push On Health Care To Democratic Caucus On Capitol Hill
President Barack Obama spoke in the conference hall of the Capitol today about the health care reform bill which is coming close to meeting enough votes to pass in the House of Representatives, which earlier today decided not use the "deem and pass" strategy to railroad the bill through Congress. "I know this is a tough vote for some of you," said our president, adding "Don't do it for Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or me. Do It for the American People." Pay attention folks, this speech is definitely one for the history books.
