Okay, CNN is in last place. But at least they now maintain political correctness 24/7. In their minds, $8 million and lousy ratings are a small price to pay for ideological purity.

Am I reading this wrong? It looks like Grace’s live show beat EVERYONE ELSE on CNN in both total viewers and in the demo! My congratulations to Grace and my condolences to the losers!

  • TfT TfT says:

I bet their ratings would go up if Palin would go on, but I heard she declined invites from CNN.

  • Magister Magister says:

@felixw: I realize this is a ratings post and in some quarters they are a mantra, but profit is still profit.

@TfT, You are probably right. I am not a Palin fan, but I think the MSM has gone overboard in their negative treatment. Every night “he who must not be named” has been doing stories about her and making snarky, childish comments.

If I recall, Hillary Clinton was turning down their invitations for awhile when they were crapping on her during the election.

  • libra blue libra blue says:

CORRECTION: “He who must not be named” on Mediaite.

  • TfT TfT says:

I see that Oprah got her best ratings in two years with the Palin interview; it must have been the live-blog Steve set up for us! :-)

In the meantime, CNN can’t seem to get its mojo back…I’m not sure what caused the massive decline, but they are not making any progress in regaining viewers. Perhaps Klein should go, or at least admit CNN doesn’t do real journalism but opine just like all the other networks but with just way more boring people. Time for a shakeup of talent, and I don’t mean just in Dobbs hour..

  • libra blue libra blue says:

@TfT, Unfortunately, every time CNN attempts to “shake things up” they use the same old stale ingredients.

  • Chuck Steele says:

I suppose that CNN (&MSNBC as well) should just be grateful that there is not a fifth or sixth cable network for news.

  • libra blue libra blue says:

@Chuck, CNN rated below the Travel Channel recently. They didn’t even place in the top 30 of overall cable channels.

  • TinaFromTampa TinaFromTampa says:

CNN should be so lucky to get an intelligent, thoughtful gal like Sarah on their line-up.
She is solid gold. She could probably beat Susan Boyle in a singing competition.
I know she could bring down a moose with one shot.
It’s great to see that she took some time off to “re-load”.
Running in 2012 is not on her radar.
She can do so many other things that will help our country.
She can sell copies of her book (TfT, did you finish reading it in one sitting like I did?).
That’s the kind of economic stimulus (selling books) that TOTUS cannot provide.
Let’s get them teabaggers whipped up into a frenzy.
If only the McCain would have let her be herself, this country would be headed in the RIGHT direction.

    Sad little stalker…

  • Magister Magister says:

@TfT: Personally, I think CNN should continue down the path they have chosen, maintain what they perceive as credibility and when the public needs them, they’ll be there.

I mean… Coke, Pepsi or Dr. Pepper, they’re all making money and in fact, one of the them is most often distributed by one of the other two (bottler).

That’s something that seems to often go overlooked in the comments to ratings posts, but in addition to be a profitable enterprise, two of the four domestic news networks is actually CNN.

I hate to listen to John King, mumbles his words and not very intelligent, alot better newsmen out there, alot!

  • TinaFromTampa TinaFromTampa says:

TfT — at least don’t disagree with anything I said!
It’s great that I can say dumb things first…. so you don’t have to!

  • TfT TfT says:

Dont flatter yourself NotsoAnonymous (aka TinafromTampa). I see your name, I don’t read your post. Just like on TVNewser, your posts here are no ore cogent than they were there. Now take your meds and move on. Grow up, get a life. Pathetic little stalker.

    ——–
    FALSE!
I just always wanted to say that — just like you do!
If you read the last line of my entry above, it was addressed to TfT, but I can see how it would apply to you too!

Well… I like that you used “false,” but it doesn’t make a lot of sense there. Sorry, please try again.

But the point of my question was about you being an internet stalker. What’s the point… what do you think you’re accomplishing? I doubt you have an answer… because it’s tough to warp “I have nothing better to do,” into something that doesn’t point out you’re a loser.

Rahm Emanuel On 60 Minutes: “Fringe Group Has Taken Control” Of GOP

    video

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was recently interviewed by CBS' Katie Couric for tomorrow night's episode of 60 Minutes, a short clip of which has been released online. In the clip made available, Emanuel briefly discusses the challenges of his political foes: the Republican Party, and says that they have their "own problems and fissures" and are "at the behest of a fringe group that's taken control of their own party." Obama’s Final Push On Health Care To Democratic Caucus On Capitol Hill

    video

President Barack Obama spoke in the conference hall of the Capitol today about the health care reform bill which is coming close to meeting enough votes to pass in the House of Representatives, which earlier today decided not use the "deem and pass" strategy to railroad the bill through Congress. "I know this is a tough vote for some of you," said our president, adding "Don't do it for Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or me. Do It for the American People." Pay attention folks, this speech is definitely one for the history books.
