Cable news ratings, August 10, 2011:

•FNC’s prime players, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren each had a strong night Wednesday, but together they dominated the cable news landscape with a combined total audience of nearly eight million viewers–more than the combined total viewers of all shows on CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined in those three hours (6.4 million).

•In his new hour at 8 p.m., CNN’s Anderson Cooper fell to fourth place, with an average audience of 398,000 total viewers. That was a drop of 100,000 viewers from AC 360‘s lead-in, John King, USA, and well behind MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell (909,000) and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly (3,250,000).

AC 360 was far stronger in its 10 p.m. hour, finishing in second place among viewers 25-54 with 278,000–ahead of MSNBC’s Ed Schultz (223,000).

Three people vs how many?….My advice to CNN, change your programs to some kind of a food network because you have the ratings already. Msnbc…wait..is it worth to give you guys advice. Heres one anyway, turn your program to like infomercials and start selling stuff. Have Ed on the jewelry department, Chris on the exotic dept. and Rachel on the outdoor department. Oh Rach, stay away from the bikinis department!

Maddow went over the million mark!!  Keep it up!

And yet, “The5″, not on in prime-time, beat her in both metrics.

That or just run a test-pattern.

Another day, another FOX win.  Woot woot!

  • Michelle

She used to consistently break a million.  I wouldn’t get too excited. But I understand, you have to look for any tiny shred of good news.  These days, you libs don’t get a lot of good news these days.

A lot of people in her demographic like to take vacation and do things. They have a life.

  • James R

Time for Phil Griffin to do another interview (Newsweek, maybe), telling the masses
how MSNBC is chipping away at FOX News!
Tina could accompany the article with a flattering photo of Phil “Leaning Forward”

O’Reilly came close to drawing ten times as many viewers as CNN.  Now can someone explain to me how Fox can get  ten times as many viewers without drawing in huge numbers of independents, moderates and Democrats?   There goes the myth that Fox only serves hardline conservatives.  It seems everyone except the ultra-far left wants to hear honest news, unfiltered by bias and political correctness.

Rev. Al doesn’t get a name for his show ?

    her audience is on vacation…..priceless

I hope nobodys behind Phil when he’s leaning forward. sorry i couldnt help it.

    true that!

  • Tedderman

And in a related story, the collective intellegence of the U.S. has sunk to an all time low.

  • Billy Sunday

Being the best in “Cable News” is like winning the category for “Best Smile”  in a beauty pageant.  It’s a nice title to have but it doesn’t take home the crown.

    Lib excuse #1,223,187!

    hahaha wayyy too funny

Give me a break! That headline is completely meaningless!!! A responsible commentator would not just say that the combined viewership of three consecutive but different shows totaled over 7 million viewers, because they do not! What they represent is over 3 million viewers for O’Reilly, which dwindles as the evening wears on.

Garbage like this is why statistics are just considered another form of lie.

The Five got  398 in demo and 1606 total viewers. versus total day, all viewers for MSNBC was primetime + daytime totals of 1371 (460, 911).

Therefore, if only MSNBC or CNN could get the Fox Five on their network, it’d be a race again.

Further proof of the failure of the American educational system.

It is well-known that Fox News runs fair and balanced news on their network.  I am a true watcher of Fox News. Anytime that I change the channel is because of the discusting commercials and if they have a 3-sum of talkers that do nothing but agrue. Can’t stand that.  Otherwise, the best news network on the air.

Great:   do you EVER say anything nice about any of the subjects on here?

But having more viewers does bring home the money!

And, today that “take[s] home the crown.”

I LOVE FOX!  CNN is LOW BUDGET, bad coverage .

Remember 911.  See these Prints!  WOW.
