President Obama Speaks On Midterm Election Results: ‘It Feels Bad’

video

After giving a statement on the midterm elections earlier today, President Obama took questions in the East Room of the White House. ABC News reporter Jake Tapper reminded the President that, in 2006, former President Bush said “we took a thumpin’” after a similar political drubbing and plainly asked the the sitting president “what does it feel like?” Obama did not hesitate in replying “it feels bad” before launching into a reasoned and reflective explanation of the results.

Obama continues to be a nice guy. Pisses me off. Well you talked about bipartisanship when you did not need it. Well you need it now. No freaking Public option, Republican ideas… You gave tax cuts, Do they care? Hell no they don’t! Freaking man has sand in his pussy.

I find it curious that BO says he wants to work with Republicans, but before he got his trashed kicked last night, he couldn’t be bothered to work with them. Not buyin it at all!

Barry . You and your cronies and your henchman work for us . Try to get that . Don’t call us things that we are not . Pay attention . Quit trying to put your agenda over on the American people . We’re watching . We’re paying attention .

The first thing Eric Cantor should say to him is “Hey, we won.”

Talk to the Royal King, Barry. He considers last night a great victory.

Yeah, just like we don’t buy that the newly-minted GOP House majority will work with Democrats or Obama either.

We’re about to see the most ineffective Congress in generations.

I know 2008 was a real kick in the gut for me, so this will hurt for a while You just got to get up, dust yourself off, and do your job. Nothing else to it.

They called me and told me “We have no regrets”. “We believe we did the right thing”.Then why didn’t they run on those points? This man is dillusional. He buried them and now his big worry is packing for India.

No, we saw that between 1/2007-11/2010.

If by working with them, you mean they way they usually do, which is bending over and grabbing their ankles, then they’d bettered not, if they know what’s good for them. If by working together, it means the Dems moving to the right to get something done, it might be possible.

  • Seeing 2012 From My Window

I think Cantor has too much class to say that notsofast, but you know he’s thinking it!

  • Corvax

Sorry Mr. President but the day you pushed through healthcare with loads of ear marks and buy offs while not paying attention to anything but you and the Democrat’s ego you threw away bipartisanship. Enjoy being cock blocked for the rest of your damaging Presidency.

When you lose that many house seats in one night people are not looking for bipartisanship, they are looking for more conservative values which at the forefront is less government.

  • tatboy

OMG… Bennet in CO just declaired he’s the winner before ANYONE else does. Not CNN, not the AP… noone has declaired him the victor but HE has… WOW!!!

We can also harness natural burrito gas to get the car out of the ditch.

What absolutely astounds me is the number of people here (and elsewhere) that think gridlock is a bad thing. This brilliant system of ours is (by design) chock full of stop-gaps and procedural machinations ON PURPOSE.

It’s designed this way to put a stick in the spokes of idealogues like Teh One who would absolutely (and without remorse) steamroll over everyone and everything to get his misguided agenda in place.

Our system will not work with only one “side” .

His press conference proves he doesn’t get it. But I think others in his party do, and the senate will be easier to work with than BO will be. We’ll see whether he can jam through stuff during the lame duck session, as he said he would during the press conference; it would require the collaboration of those in the senate who didn’t actually have to run this time, but will have to next.

I don’t know, a lot was accomplished in that time period. You don’t like what it was, but at least things got done. What we’re about to see is a bunch of babies on both sides not agreeing on anything and a further divide in this country.

Well, if the GOP takes a hard right turn, yeah, it’s gonna be hard for the Dems to work with the GOP. After last night, the Dems are going to have to move more to the center. Let’s see if the GOP will join the majority of the country in the center, not the far-right or the far-left.

If last night was a mandate on the Dems moving too far to the left, the GOP had better not move too far to the right, otherwise we will see last night repeated in 2012, only the other way around.

I would like the GOP to move far to the right to eradicate the mistakes the Dems made the past 2 years. After those mistakes are fixed I would like them to move back to the center and we can “start over”.

  • Seeing 2012 From My Window

I think the GOP will listen to the people. They DIDN’T want Obamacare, the AZ lawsuit, cap N trade, and the gov’t takeover of industries. The Dem’s will have to abandoned those dreams and join the rest of us or get out of the way.

I don’t want Obama to “change” one more thing, I just want him GONE! All those unfulfilled campaign promises have made this election a clear referendum on Obama. He gave himself an “A” when asked about his performance but the student is rarely given the opportunity to themselves a grade for performance. This comes from the teacher or in this case the voters. And the grade indicating Obama’s incessant failures and lies that got him elected. Are we still involved in Iraq and Afghanistan? He was going to resolve this mess the first week in office, sorry but it has been two years! Obama has two more years to pack up and he had better leave the China and silverware as is and can ask Clinton if he needs souvenirs!

Well I guess it depends on how you look at it and where you look at it from. I won’t rehash our positions because we both know where we stand.

I sincerely hope positive things can get done. I actually voted for a few Republicans last night because I thought they might actually be effective. We shall see.

In ’012, Obama will be on the ticket, so the ‘netroots might get off their couch.

If 1994 is any indication of what will happen in 2012, Obama will likely get re-elected, although it does depend on who they run against him.

I expect by that time the economy will have improved a little more than where it is now, as it’s already trending that way.

I think it was announced that over 43,000 jobs were added in October, on top of the good news out of the American auto industry.

In 2012 33 Senate seats are up, 21 being held by Dems and 2 by Independants. Odds aren’t good for Dems reversing what just happened. Dream on Stooges and Magister.

Some late minute housecleaning to take care of before the family’s Indian vacation.

  • Cancon2

Did the Teleprompter provide these gems? I was just wondering, so as to assign lameness to the proper owner.

  • sharonrj52

Pathetic Loser don’t make the decisions but the Winners do and you Obama are a LOSER and now you find out that the American people are not IMPRESSED by you or likes of you. BOO HOOOOOOOOOWHINE NObody loves me WHINE

  • Some_Dude

That was indeed a thoughtful response. And those that lost their office have nothing to apologize for, they did the right thing by making the tough, politically unkind votes when it counted.

After the new House takes over and proceeds to push failed agendas like more tax cuts for the wealthy and earnest deregulation, Obama will secure his second term followed by a new speaker later.

Poooor -0bama, his widdle ego is smushed.
