WATCH: Al Roker Tries To Improve Chef Ming Tsai’s Chinese Food With Bacon
Add this to that list of things you’ve been doing wrong your whole life: julienning peppers. Seriously. We feel like idiots. But Ming Tsai has opened our eyes! And Al Roker, not to be outdone, decided to add to the fabric of culinary innovation alongside Ming.
He visited The Today Show to plug his new cookbook Simply Ming in Your Kitchen, and demo a Singapore Noodle dish, which Al Roker thought would be improved by adding bacon. First of all, Al, Danny Bowien’s already on that game. But that’s just because he’s bored and on crack.
Traditional Chinese food, a la Ming Tsai, would never, EVER be caught dead receiving a helping hand from its friend across the aisle, American bacon. Sure, they use plenty of pork belly and other cuts of pork in their cuisine, but no bacon crumbles in the rice noodles, dude. Stop bastardizing the cultures of your guests with your American supremacist ignorance. That’s Kathy Lee and Hoda’s job. You’re a journalist, man. Get it together.
