Charlamagne Torches Dem Leaders and ‘Chuck E. Cheese Obama’ Jeffries on Daily Show: ‘What Are We Doing?!’

Charlamagne Tha God ripped into Democratic Party leaders, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

On Wednesday’s The Daily Show, Charlamagne played several clips of Schumer and Jeffries and accused the pair of not meeting the energy of the recent No Kings demonstrations, which drew more than seven million people across the country to protest the policies of President Donald Trump.

Charlamagne particularly blasted Jeffries, accusing the lawmaker of talking like a “Chuck E. Cheese” version of former President Barack Obama after playing a clip of the lawmaker blaming Republicans for the current government shutdown.

“People are angry. So why is Hakeem Jeffries talking like he’s Chuck E. Cheese Obama? Like, what are we doing? What are we doing? Come on, man. Come on. Clearly, the Democrats don’t have the leaders they need to meet the moment. OK, fine. Anyone who was a fan of sports knows sometimes you need a rebuilding year. OK, get some draft picks, develop young talent. And at some point, the old guys need to retire,” he said.

Charlamagne blasted Democrats like Schumer over their hesitance to support New York Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a self-described Democratic socialist. Instead of pushing younger candidates, the commentator argued, Democrats are playing by the same old rulebook.

“What the Dems should be focused on is picking exciting new candidates. What you got?” he said before cutting to a clip about Maine Governor Janet Mills (D) running for Senate.

If elected, Mills will be the oldest freshman senator ever at 77 years old.

“This is the new candidate, okay?” Charlamagne said. “She shouldn’t be running for Senate. She should be throwing her Titanic necklace back into the ocean.”

He accused Democrats of not learning any lessons from former President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign.

“That’s not the kind of leadership we’re looking for, OK?” Charlamagne said. “These are the same Democratic leaders that shove their sh*tty candidates down our throats and say we have to support them because it’s vote blue no matter who. Hell, you did it after Joe Biden sh*t the bed in the debate.”
