Hannity Launches Into Defense of Alan Dershowitz After Marsha Blackburn Says Those on Epstein’s List Should Be ‘Ashamed’
Fox News host Sean Hannity launched into a defense of network regular Alan Dershowitz on Tuesday after Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said those named on pedophile sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s list of associates ought to be ashamed of themselves.
“Any day now, hundreds of court documents related to Jeffrey Epstein will be made public. Now the unsealed records will include more than 150 names of individuals who had ties to the convicted pedophile,” declared Hannity on his show, adding that he had reached out to former President Bill Clinton – “one of many prominent names expected to appear in the court filings” – for comment.
After being introduced to the show to discuss Epstein’s list, Blackburn noted, “This is not a list that anyone wants their name to be on.”
She continued:
There are going to be people there on this list that are accused of wrongdoing, there are going to be those on the list who are accusing Epstein and Maxwell of wrongdoing, and there will be people that were witnesses to some of this activity but did not report that activity.
So I’m certain that Bill Clinton and other people are very nervous. They don’t want to be on this list, there are people that are going to be ashamed if they are, and he is probably one of them.
Hannity then launched straight into a defense of Dershowitz, telling viewers:
The only one I can think of that might be on the list is Alan Dershowitz, who was an attorney. Everybody has a right to counsel. He did have charges brought up against him, and he’s been adamant in his denial of any wrongdoing or any knowledge of even things that have happened there.
After Hannity asked, “Why is this important to get out to the public in your view?” Blackburn said, “This is not about celebrity, it’s about criminal activity. It’s getting to the bottom of what is going on and seeing who was affiliated and associated with Jeffrey Epstein so we break these sex trafficking rings.”
Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre claimed in 2019 that Dershowitz was “a participant in sex trafficking” and “one of the men to whom Epstein lent out Plaintiff for sex” – allegations Dershowitz denied. Giuffre went on to drop her lawsuit in 2022 and said that she may have been mistaken.
Dershowitz appeared several times on Epstein’s flight logs between 1998 and 2005, and was credited with getting Epstein a “sweetheart deal” in 2008 for child prostitution charges.
In 2015, Dershowitz admitted to receiving a massage at Epstein’s house, but claimed he kept his pants on.
