Jesse Watters and Brian Kilmeade Discuss ‘The Most Attractive First Lady Ever’
Fox News hosts Jesse Watters and Brian Kilmeade debated on The Five, Wednesday about who was “the most attractive first lady ever.”
Reacting to a report which claimed a Vanity Fair editor had threatened to walk out of the company with half of her staff if First Lady Melania Trump was featured on the cover, Watters questioned, “Was Jill [Biden] on the cover?”
“Twice, I think,” replied Kilmeade.
The conversation continued:
WATERS: She was on the cover twice?
KILMEADE: And then you have–
WATERS: Was Michelle Obama on the cover?
KILMEADE: Three times.
WATERS: Okay. Do you think those two women are prettier than Melania Trump?
KENNEDY (CO-HOST): You’re not gonna answer that. Not gonna answer that. Not gonna answer that.
WATERS: No, do you think they’re pretty?
KILMEADE: No, no.
WATERS: Is it not about pretty? Is it about fashion? Because Melania’s also more fashionable.
KILMEADE: She’s the most attractive first lady ever. Let’s be honest.
WATERS: Martha Washington?
KILMEADE: I have not seen her.
WATERS: She’s not your type?
KILMEADE: The problem is when you have portraits instead of pictures–
WATERS: You can’t really get a good look.
KILMEADE: Thank you.
WATERS: What about Jackie O?
KILMEADE: Alright, what’s your point?
WATERS: What’s my point? What’s your point?!
Former Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr. took issue with Watters and Kilmeade’s remarks, claiming he would like to see the first lady in Vanity Fair not because of her looks, but because she’s “a very thoughtful and smart person.”
“You guys were so wrong. She should not be on the cover. She is an attractive woman. She should not be on the cover of Vanity Fair. I wouldn’t buy it ’cause she’s an attractive person,” said Ford. “She clearly is a very thoughtful and smart person. She has a persona because people dislike him. She has a persona because of how attractive she is. But this is a very serious woman who is working on AI, who is working on mental health issues, and is now working on children’s issues. Whether you agree with her husband or not, I’d love to hear that or read about that.”
He concluded, “You guys were joking, I know, but she’s a serious person who’s doing equally serious things in this second term here.”
