Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Slam ‘Son of a B*tch’ Trump in Late-Night United Front

Two of President Donald Trump’s most relentless TV critics joined forces on Tuesday night, when Jimmy Kimmel appeared with Stephen Colbert in a rare late-night crossover.

The ABC funnyman joined Colbert on The Late Show to reflect on recent events before both men began needling Trump.

“You started as a radio disc jockey, as you said,” Colbert began. “When you were spinning platters and making with the banter, did you ever think the president of the United States would be celebrating your unemployment?”

The audience jeered and booed.

“I mean, that son of a b*tch, you know?” Kimmel quipped to applause.

“Mr. Son of a B*tch,” the host joined in.

“His royal –” Kimmel added.

Colbert nodded: “Yes.”

Kimmel continued: “No, I never thought we would have a president like this, and I hope we don’t have another president like this again.”

The audience cheered in approval.

Turning to the government shutdown, Kimmel said: “I never even imagined there would ever be a situation in which the president of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs. Somebody who took pleasure in that. That to me is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be.”

“Hear, hear,” Colbert replied.

Both hosts have been in Trump’s crosshairs in recent months, with Colbert learning over the summer that CBS would end The Late Show in May 2026, much to the president’s glee.

Kimmel, meanwhile, was temporarily suspended in September following threats by FCC Chair Brendan Carr, after Trump publicly attacked him over comments about the suspect in conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s killing.
