Tucker Carlson Rips ‘Really Short’ Jon Stewart for Emotional Response to Vets’ Bill: ‘He’s Shrieking and Disheveled’

Tucker Carlson insulted comedian Jon Stewart’s appearance Thursday, likening the former Daily Show host to a bug-eating “homeless mental patient” who is also “short.”

According to Carlson, Stewart is so short, he is “too short to date.”

Last week, Stewart made his rounds on cable news to discuss the PACT Act, which at the time was being held up by Republicans in the Senate. Stewart was emotional while speaking in favor of the bill.

On Thursday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, the host mocked his appearance and demeanor over it. Carlson said:

Around the end of the Obama administration, Jon Stewart disappeared, and you didn’t hear anything from him. He’s resurfaced, showing up in Washington, D.C. the other day, looking like a guy who lives in the men’s room at your public library, eating imaginary insects out of the air.

Carlson aired a video of Stewart screaming at Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec, and commented he is now “unrecognizable” and “demented.”

After he played the video for his audience, Carlson said he was curious for “answers” regarding “what happened” to Stewart.

“That’s Jon Stewart?” he asked. “The famous Jon Stewart looks like a homeless mental patient. He’s shrieking and disheveled, and very short. Really short. Too short to date. Was he always that short? What happened, where’s he been the last seven years?”

Carlson’s insults might have been 18 years in the making. In 2004, Stewart joined CNN’s Crossfire, which Carlson co-hosted.

Stewart insulted Carlson over one of his then-calling card bowties in a segment that still circulates online frequently.

“How old are you?” Stewart asked during the tense exchange.

Carlson replied, “Thirty-five.”

“And you wear a bow tie?” Stewart retorted.

The comedian added, “Look, I’m not suggesting you aren’t a smart guy, because those things are not easy to tie. But the thing is, you’re doing theater, when you should be doing debate. It’s not honest.”
