Beck: If Rand Paul Was a Democrat, ‘They Would Be Calling Him God’

Glenn Beck was absolutely floored at how Rand Paul, a Republican, received a standing ovation at UC Berkeley this week, declaring that if Paul did not have the R at the end of his name, he would be heralded as God on earth, even bigger than the way people view President Obama as Jesus.

It’s astounding, Beck noted, for any Republican (let alone the winner of the most recent CPAC straw poll) to receive a standing ovation at a liberal college campus, and argued he’s the kind of person who can build a new conservative-liberal coalition that has diversity of opinion but is united on the Bill of Rights.

Beck said Paul could “bridge the gap” between the far-left and far-right, and made this rather bold assertion about how Paul is treated by the media and the left.

“If he were on the left, he would be being heralded as God. Barack Obama might be Jesus, but this guy… is astounding, and if this guy was a… Democrat, they would be calling him God.”
