Sarah Sanders Has Been Interviewed by Robert Mueller’s Office

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders sat down with special counsel Robert Mueller‘s office for an interview.

CNN broke the news this afternoon, and Sanders confirmed in a statement, “The President urged me, like he has everyone in the administration, to fully cooperate with the special counsel. I was happy to voluntarily sit down with them.”

The report from CNN notes that it’s “unclear” what was raised in the interview, but that it’s likely her public statements on the Russia investigation came up, especially her comments concerning the president’s role in crafting the statement from Don Jr. on the infamous Trump Tower meeting. Per CNN:

As Mueller wraps up his Russia probe, one focus of investigators has been conflicting public statements by President Donald Trump and his team that could be seen as an effort to obstruct justice, according to people familiar with the investigation.
